he had some control over the processes of investigation.

For the first 2 years he had a Republican Congress that would do nothing and his own appointed AG who would do nothing. When Dems got control of the House 2 years into the term, they impeached him but Moscow Mitch was the Senate majority leader so a conviction was impossible. Trump appointed Barr who ran interference for him against the Mueller report and shielded him and his cronies from subpoenas to testify.

It has only been the last 9 months that there has been a Congress and AG willing and able to pursue investigations, collect evidence, and interview witnesses. In the first couple of months, Biden needed to establish a functioning staff and clean house of Trump traitors still in government. It took time to get a functioning cabinet, including an AG. But at least finding and arresting J6 insurrectionists began right away.

So it is not the fault of Dems that Trump skated for 4 years. It is not the fault of Biden, Garland, Schumer, or Pelosi that Trump skated for 4 years. They are on it now, and in spite of continuing obstacles, they are getting results. Instead of whining impatiently, we should be glad that they are proceeding and getting results.
