1999, to be exact. The bodies were eventually recovered, but that doesn't faze the conspiracy theorists. I guess they just assume that some random body was falsely identified as JFK Jr. to cover up the fact that he was still alive. Or something?

Conspiracy theorists have believed more outlandish things than that, so it's probably not that much of a stretch for them!
