It was almost the end of the school day on the east coast. Can't recall if we were dismissed early, but remember it was a warm day, walking home from the bus stop and Mom meeting me at the front door. The TV was on and that's what we watched all day. Back then, the networks all went off from midnight until 6AM or so. My dad was at work, but I don't recall his reaction at all. I still have the magazines and newspapers my mom saved about the assassination and memorializing JFK.
