Billionaire Moroun, Stamper jailed in Gateway Project dispute

Immediately following the judge's decision, Craig John, an attorney for the bridge company, said Stamper and Moroun had resigned and have no power over the company, a maneuver clearly meant to keep them from going to jail.

... After Edwards also denied a request to stay the order for an appeal for Moroun and Stamper, John asked the judge if the bridge company executives would be incarcerated until the project is completed.

"Read the order," Edwards said.

To which John replied: "I did your, your honor," prompting Edwards to announce: "Court is in recess," as he headed toward his office.
