1984..(not sure)..But mandatory seat belts (which were among the first, not last safety devises on cars) have saved
thousands of lives... Perhaps more..Seat belts, then air bags, warning when cars are passing, etc., etc.

Carter was the first to make seat belts safety features.. .mandatory!

Before Carter, ordered them to be there, they were optional, but most front seat sitters had them. Later people were
required to put them on, and are still required to do so, front and back And guess what? People put them
on.
Now, many states have required it,and many lives were saved because of seat belts, and other safety devises............................. Imagine if you can how many lives have been saved by Carter's order

....I am sure some people here at DU know a story or two about people were saved by a seat belt...Carter ordered it in 78 or 9) for 84.
...........Tell them who ordered the seat belts. If they are "pukes" let them know who saved their lives..
