And for the reason posted, he was always against nuclear energy. He famously put solar panels on the roof of the White House. Reagan was supposed to make us feel all superior with his sunny disposition. I remember watching the vote come in and the RNC playing "Midnight Train to Georgia," smug, arrogant, tacky, and an insult to Gladys Knight and the Pips to have their music used in such a snarky manner. The next thing the smug, arrogant, clueless, criminal (hold the hostages until after the election, Iran/Contra) was take the solar panels off the roof.

Imagine where we would be if we had responsible adults in charge on energy independence? Then we went to ignoring AIDS because only "those people got it." "Great communicator" my ass.
