the national media and everywhere 7-10 years ago or less. There was even a good deal of speculation about possible VP. Julian went for a TV position, I didn't realize that.

I'm aware of the preferences and conservatism of Texans in that region and those with hispanic heritage. I have a cousin in Calif. married to a person of Mexican background, a sibling with a Cuban spouse and children in Florida, and another relative married to a Seminole.
