being refusniks and now coming down sick, coming here to DU on some days virtually feels like a betrayal.
I am angry too, and have written things here I probably shouldnt have. But do I wish for whole groups to get sick? No.
Last I heard, the Central Valley (rural as all get-out) in California was being hit pretty hard, and their hospitals were full enough that Fresno was contacting Los Angeles about sending overflow patients to them. Needless to say, LA has its own troubles, just on a much larger scale.
I am practically numb by now. I would like to know if those military field-hospital tents could be reserved for COVID patients, so surgeons and obstetricians could get back to their own necessary jobs. There is nothing elective or postponable about the kind of surgery you need.
All the best to you and your family. May this be resolved soon.
