Investigate & referral for charges.
There sure is a law stating conviction of certain crimes prevent one from being seated in our US congress.

As the OP & I suggest, "we are willing to think outside the box"

If convicted of conspiracy to overthrow the US govt, including an election, they cannot hold a position in our congressional body.

That's what I'm going with myself, as just one way to rid our Congress of the worst of them all, in one big damned sweep right before their reelection.
Anyone within our govt who played a role is removed & forbidden from ever holding office again.

I'm sticking to that likely possibility.
