I'm sure it was unintentional, but it sounded to me like you were suggesting that this situation was the customer's fault. Nobody should have to go through life worried about "not raising eyebrows" for doing what white people do without being questioned.
I agree that ATMs are convenient, but I would hesitate to deposit a large check by ATM.
This physician accepted a job in this community, providing a desperately needed resource for them. The bank treated her poorly. There's no excuse and it's not her fault.
