(22,777 posts)I was laid off years ago and never found a decent job to replace the one I had. Not that job, but at another, I worked for a national trucking company and was also really good at my job, customers very happy. I left on my own even though I enjoyed the actual work, but trucking companies are horrible places to work as a woman. Chock full of the worst sexists and misogynists because it's the type of work that attracts them.
It's hard and a punch in the gut, no doubt, but if I were her, I'd take the unemployment and severance (negotiate for a decent amount) and be happy to see the last of such a place. Down the road, she's going to look back and realize some of the things she tolerated for the job and feel relief that she's no longer working there.
Sending wishes that, with her wealth of experience, she'll find a much better place to work soon.
