In reply to the discussion: Rachel Maddow is a hero & patriot, & probably saved my life. [View all]Jakes Progress
(11,213 posts)I love her. I think her voice is the clearest form of informed journalism.
For four years I watched religiously. Then I got depressed and became cynical. Not about what she said and what she told us. But because nothing seemed to come from it.
Night after night she told the truth. At least twice a week she laid out reasons with proof about why the orange blob was unfit for office and harmful to the country, about why he should be in jail along with his family.
Over and over she logically and methodically laid it out. But he stayed in office for four years and has taken over one of the two parties in our country.
It became bad for my health as I got angrier and more despondent.
I think she should have the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Pulitzer. I can't watch very much any more because the truth isn't making me free. It is making me sad. Sad that our country is this way.
Rachel is the jewel of televised journalism that Murrow wished the medium would produce.
