But isnt it a bit hypocritical to embargo a country for human rights violations until such time as we need their oil?

They nationalized their oil back in the '70's and around 70% of oil producing countries have I think

One more dirty deal with a dictator. Do it if we must, but make fossil fuels obsolete ASAP.
