24. Kudos for your brother. I hope it helps is outlook. Is he one who thinks Dems are the fascists?

When we visited what was then West Germany (mostly Bavaria) in the 80s it changed my perspective on so much. I was always a Democrat but not very liberal. We were guests of the family of our exchange student and used that as our base with him and his family as tour guides. We interacted with so many people we would not have met on a tour, plus my ex spoke fluent German and many people assumed he was German. I was the one with the confused expression on my face when people addressed us.

And yes, Rick Steves is wonderful. I had his PBS program on Fascism in Europe on my Tivo for years and would rewatch it occasionally, but I think I accidentally deleted it or something because I can't find it there anymore. I'll have to check Vudu for it. Thanks.
