Re-read the OP.

Why do I bring this up? Because war is ALWAYS bad. It's ugly and it's evil. There are no good guys and bad guys, war is a nasty thing that leads to misery and pain.

I'm shocked that so many people think that Ukraine is something "new"... in reality, it's just the most publicized.
