they will have to resort to increasingly fascistic and Orwellian tactics to actually make it happen, which is going to blow up in their faces at some point. Some people may be uncomfortable about abortion but Gilead was supposed to be a cautionary tale, not something that most people in the 21st Century actually want to be real.
