(11,761 posts)I've still masking, and still have folks smile and open doors for me. I'm often the only person with a a mask, including staff. I live in bright red Trump southern Oregon. It may be because I frequent the same establishments days after day, for years. I am pretty sure at my local quick market, if some jerk tried to give me a tough time, the folks there would be on him instantly, and it would be his last day walking through their door. Those people are like family to me.
I have had nothing but the usual friendly interactions. Although, I thought I was going to get my ass beat down yesterday. I had backed out of my parking spot, the guy 2 spaces over in a huge truck and dark windows, starts backing out. He just kept coming, I put my car in reverse and started honking, so he knew I was there. His tires were as tall as my front end. He just kept coming, got about a foot from me, before he pulled forward. Then, he stopped and jumped out of his truck very angry, until he saw an old lady in a little red car. He gestured, "I saw you.", I waived and said okay, sorry. I really don't think he saw me, and had I been a male, he probably would have started punching my window. He was really angry when he came towards me. I was scared.
