In reply to the discussion: OMG! Remember when Pence said, 'I'm not getting in that car'? [View all]Hortensis
(58,785 posts)49. I believe FakeNoose's is the most credible scenario for Pence himself that afternoon.
There is verified evidence that supports that. I'm no Pence admirer, far from it, but Pence refusing to be taken away for his own safety in order to remain to carry out his part of the certification fits that scenario.
At this point, what plots may have swirled among those trying to find a way to pull off their coup d'etat are speculation and conspiracism based on what MIGHT have come to their minds. I'm sure many of them would have done anything, though, and any that aren't already disproven (whether we know it or not) could conceivably be true.
I've put a pin in it.

I wonder if the plan was to blame Antifa or even the Democratic party for his disappearance.

He would have been taken to an undisclosed location "for his safety," never to return for the count.

I that case, we will never know what Grassley would or would not have done since it never happened.

Yes, but that was the "easier" correct thing to do and one would hope he would do the right thing

Whatever brave "stand" Pence may have made, it was undone by his subsequent actions.

I think Mother Pence was the one with the bad feeling, told him not to get into any cars.

It is certainly VERY ominous, and not hard to connect the dots...at least by solid inference.
