If they want states to handle their own emergency response, then flat out say so. Ana while they are at it, send tax money back to blue states that is now going to red states, so that blue states can handle their expenses. Let red states pay for what their citizens are willing to pay for. Republicans love to talk about Greece, but Greeks don't like paying taxes, like most southerners. Let Louisiana pay for it's own strom response and tax their citizens to pay for it, not have the federal government tax California, New York and Massachusetts to pay for LA response.

Romney's spokeswoman was careful to explain that states would control activities, but they need FEM - that is what the fuck happens now. FEMA does not run in and declare martial law, the agency works with state and local governments to establish response plans, with the locals leading the way. How in the hell can ANYONE vote for Romney?
