if you look at a strong, competent woman and a strong cmpetent man, the odds are very, very high that the strong competent woman will have worked much harder and faced untold belittling and discrimination just to get those credentials. That is not a guarantee of empathy , but it is somewhat more likely to lead to empathy than is a male career path.
No, it's definitely not a guarantee. And no, it shouldn't be assumed. But we have seen it happen often enough that we tend to assume it.
