in my mind. The farther you get from an actual crime, the less people take it seriously. Pouncing immediately adds credibility to the severity.

You even saw this with R's in the immediate aftermath on 1-6. Well, for 24 hrs anyway.

Hard to manufacture outrage 1 1/2 years later. A June 1-6 public hearing might look ridiculous to many.
