5. I subscribe to this philosophy

My mobile phone is for my convivence, not anyone else's.

I don't jump whenever it rings, or whenever I get a text.

Unless I'm expecting a call, I usually do not even look to see who is calling until I feel like it. If I hear a voicemail beep after the call, I'll listen to it as soon as I can, usually.

I will eventually answer texts, unless they are just bullshit, but if they are not important, it might take me few days to answer.

I usually find that if a call or text is urgent, my phone will start blowing up with rapid fire texts or calls. Only then will I look at it immediately.

I have to carry a smart phone because I have two apps that are medical monitors.

But I try not to be a slave to it.

I also have a landline. I get so many spam calls that I turned the ringers off all of the landline phones. I let the answering machine get it.
