"The economy, stupid" - Carville was right in '92 and that advice still holds.

It's tempting to make 1/6, Trump, or RvW the headline; but polls consistently show economic issues at the top of the electorate's priorities. Just because it's super important to us - politically engaged Democrats - doesn't mean that is the norm. In this case, the polls pretty clearly show that it is not.
