(7,254 posts)It's not right that everything we did back in our teens and early 20's is being ripped and shredded into tiny pieces today. We thought we had made our country safer for ourselves, our daughters, and our granddaughters, at least. This isn't right. It isn't right to be called to do it all over again, when our bodies are no longer capable of standing, let alone marching, for short or long periods of time. I cry now for the future lost; I cry for what I see coming at us; I cry because I see no way to stop it. I cry because the only thing I ever see is "GOTV"... and it's just seems so pathetic a response with what the repugs are doing to us. How many of us votes will even count? Especially those of us on disability? I'm tired, too, and living in a sense of rage and despair, as well.
Someone above mentioned creating a commune. I kinda like that idea. We may have to think outside the box like that in order to survive and support each other, both physically and emotionally at some point. Ideally, I'd like it be outside of the U.S., but I haven't found any place that isn't as screwed up that would take us. Whatever happened to honoring the elders? (sigh)
