May 2022

I've had lower energy these past 2+ years bc of covid - not bc I've gotten it (thank the powers, and I've done/do what I should be doing about it) but to counteract my winter SAD I depend on being extra out and about late April through early Oct in the parks & gardens of NYC. Covid has kept me inside 90%-95% of the time 2020 - first part '21.
Then 80% - 85% since vaxxed June - Sept '21.
It's just not enough time outside.

Add Drump's years, and his "permission" for in your face racism, and sexism, Jan 6, climate charge... And now
this SC draft0(!!!)?
I fear for all our younger women-sisters. Plus more people as other laws may be attacked. I feel like a deer in the headlights (disbelief*), and fury.
[*difference between knowing something terrible is going to probably happen vs when it actually happens!]

I'd call myself a semi activist of about 50 yrs (started mid teens). I remember seeing the signs on the 2 Women's March I went on the "I Can't Believe I STILL Have to March about THIS!" variety. Yup.😑

Thank goodness I'm not constantly angry. I have various
interests, and activities that bring me joy, laughter, wonderment, and creativity.
That balances my ability to keep up with the miasmas we're dealing with, and doing what I can to help.

And I'm so glad I found DU about 2 years ago. 👍
