In reply to the discussion: The Rent is to damn high. [View all]Ziggysmom
(3,408 posts)44. Not everyone is lucky enough to afford home ownership. My husband and I had to downsize
to a disabled accommodated apartment 10 years ago. No way could I be his caretaker AND take care of a home. Paying someone to mow, shovel and do repairs he once did was out of the question. I'm 10 years younger than him and also work full time. I have house envy when I see
pics of everyone's gardens and homes, but in my heart I know we made the right choice.
I'm very afraid of the recent rent hikes. I've written to my Senator Tammy Baldwin; she is a great person and understands the issues. She was raised by her grandparents and was even caretaker for her grandmother, so she gets "It". I hope we get rid of Russian Ronnie in November!

According to what I could find about Prop 13, it isn't zero; they can go up 2 % a year for inflation
