Those who can take care of themselves and property deserve professional-level assistance to return to sustainable lives.

That leaves others who can't but are supposedly invited to squat in other people's unprotected property. And for the advocates, it is by definition OTHER people's, not their own. At least your mom wasn't there WHILE they vandalized and stole.
