In reply to the discussion: Lawyer: Uvalde teacher did not leave door open that gunman used to enter school [View all]In It to Win It
(12,678 posts)24. Got it. Nothing I read so far described the layout of the school so I am working on
incomplete info if that's the case.
I was under the impression, from everything I've read and listened to so far, once the shooter got through the fence onto school grounds, he was able to get to the classroom. I was unaware that he had to to through a door into the school and then from that point, into the classroom. I was under the impression that the classroom doors led to exterior corridors or hallways, which would be vulnerable to anyone once they get past the school's fence.
When I first read about the door being kept open with a rock, I thought they were talking about the actual classroom door and not an entrance to the school.

Cops had already been in the school by that time. No doubt it and others were opened.

I'm glad for the teacher that doesn't have to live with the guilt of leaving the door open.
