56 million people voted for John McCain and Sarah Palin despite their rabid insanity. Even if we win Congress and the White House and every blue/purple state legislature and Gubernatorial elections (edited to add: which I hope to see happen in my lifetime), there is no scenario that sees us pacifying or "educating" 56 million crazy people. If these people find themselves backed into a political corner where they see their vision of America completely unraveling, what do you think will happen?
I know what'll happen - we'll be better off cutting these zombies loose than taking option #2, that's what.
