DeSantis is more like Jair Bolsonaro, or even Rodrigo Duterte: violent, vengeful, rigid, moralistic, authoritarian, opportunistic, rightwing strongmen with thin skins, huge egos and a taste for wealth.
Anyone trying to make DeSantis out to be another Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez or Nicolás Maduro would be ridiculed by Floridians who lived under those regimes. And comparing him to Fulgencio Batista would likely gain him votes in South Florida.

If DeSantis wins presidency in 2024, there won't be a presidential election in 2028.
