6. I remember watching that day

I think it was on CNN, and a reporter was walking with the mob and talking with one of the insurrectionists somewhere back in the pack. The reporter asked him if he thought President Trump would be at the Capitol, and he said that Trump was up front somewhere, leading the march. He was quite sure of it. This, of course, after Trump had told the mob to march down Pennsylvania Avenue to the Capitol, and that he'd be right there with them. That statement by Trump doesn't seem to have registered with any of our bulldogs of the Fourth Estate, none of whom (from what I can see) thought it was offered in all seriousness, just a way to rev up the mob some more, or somewhere in between and the Secret Service actually put its foot down and said there was absolutely no way President Trump would be heading to the Capitol with the violent mob he had assembled and set in motion.
