Don't feel embarassed asking for help.

Do you belong to a church or other religious institution? Helping members is one thing organized religious groups are good for -- bringing food, helping with yard work or other chores etc.

Are you able to work at all? There are many jobs available now, including some you can do working remotely from home, if you don't get enough donations to tide you over.
