who was recently installed as the head of the city's long-time watchdog organization - "Committee of 70" (the position had been vacated by long-time head David Thornburgh, son of the former Governor and U.S. Attorney General), was not buying the bullshit "Big Lie®".
Schmidt was an absolute trooper who was continually pummeled with death threats as the GOP loons viciously attacked the voting and counting here in Philly, despite the fact that the final count process was being live-streamed the entire week, 24/7.
When Mastriano, a big subject of the J6 Committee investigation, and now running for Governor here against (D) Josh Shapiro, demanded that Philly hand over not only voting equipment, but PII from every voter here per his subpoena, everyone knew that would be fucking no-go -

Moments ago, I voted to reject Senator Mastrianos request that Philadelphia give him our election equipment. The Board of Elections decision was unanimous.

The 2020 General Election was already audited - twice. What Mastriano is requesting isnt an actual audit at all, nor does it address his complaints which are about election procedures/decisions by the PA Supreme Court and PA Department of State.
