A state, a county, or by city? And what about Federal assets? Of course buildings would stay in place but what about postal vehicles? What about military assets and personell? How about the nukes? What comes to mind right away is that Texas has it's own ground and air forces. If Texas decided that things were not being distributed fairly then they may decide to take things. Then we have a shooting war and not a divorce.
