Over the years, potential Democrats have cited one trait above all others; I call it the ‘wimp factor.’ They equate all the traits that hold society together, like altruism, cooperation, and empathy, with weakness. They equate cruelty and indifference with strength. This upside-down revision of societal values will likely result in the downfall of civilization unless the model somehow undergoes revision. I’m confident that can be done, but it’s an uphill battle.
