Certainly if he’s convicted of something, he could be disqualified. But it feels like a dangerous precedent to allow either the senate or house to simply disqualify a person from office “because”. If allowed, what would stop Mitch from voting to bar…say Kamala Harris or Pete B or John Doe (D-anywhere) from running.
