After all that, I recognize a dysfunctional country when I see it. You think the Weimar Republic can't happen here? You think the US is immune to forces in history? You think we can't fail or fall. Go learn what history is actually like.

This shit is new. We've gone thru the era of the Robber Barons, but those guys were wimps compared to the world oligarchs running things now. We've had Great Awakenings, but not in these numbers. We've never spent on the military like this in relative peacetime. Electronic communication has given us the ability to spread the most insane crap at nanospeed. We've always been anti-intellectual, but not like this.

Maybe we can't simply divorce, but I've yet to see anything written on this thread that tells me what will ever bring the two Worlds of this country together.
