They rarely ask anything that word salad can't suffice.

All those giving him a pass based on CTE are clueless on this. He was never an intelligent man capable of really complex thoughts-- or at least lacking the verbal abilities to express them. IF CTE were a possible explanation, then he'd have to have gone to the most violent (and intensely irresponsible) high school in history, where head blows were the norm. There is no evidence of that.
