3. The gas tax holiday is feel good nothingness-

It’ll save the average American $16.56 over a 90 day period.

Much better is the anti-gouging bill democrats in the house passed. Unfortunately republicans will probably kill it in the senate- but that would have led to real results that would impact Americans pocketbooks in a meaningful way.

I’m not going to waste my time defending a bill that is essentially toothless, that in the end will actually negatively impact democrats. What do you think happens in three months when the “tax holiday” expires, right before the elections anyway?

Instead I’m going to write my senators and tell them to act on Katie Porter’s bill and I’m going to point out to everyone who will listen that Republicans are the ones blocking it and keeping gas prices high.
