(43,314 posts)stand would be a failure of Rule of Law they just couldn't abide by. Too much loss, harm and damage has been done to the functioning of the federal and state governments to let any secret pardons go through after the worst and largest seditious conspiracy plot in U.S. history has been proven through years of investigation.
If they let secret pardons stand in this dark historical time, I see two things happening.
First, it would embolden all the trumpcult voters, militias and half-assed attorneys to trumpet that they're the real good guys, go with this playbook over again, only with DeSantis, the smarter version of trump, with corporate backers to establish minority corporate rule.
Second, many of the 81 million Democratic voters would be watching their backs, maybe looking to either hide or leave the country, given both the recent Miranda ruling by the SCOTUS, and the tendency of right winger LEO's to let mass murders happen.
Bottom line. I just don't see secret pardons saving the day for the bad guys.
