The Republicans are cut throat when it comes to securing SCOTUS seats. If we dont practice even a little political pragmatism, we will never get the opportunity to fix this mess.
Political pragmatism is why so many good, strong Democrats were nearly screaming at Breyer to retire when Joe was inaugurated.
What if one of our Democratic senators had died unexpectedly during the last two years and had been replaced by a Republican Governor? Joe would have lost the opportunity to appoint Breyers replacement.
