(6,115 posts)Boy, I don't want to live thinking every single thing that happens is someone's nasty plot to make me miserable. Why would others look for conspiracies everywhere?
This is a timing issue, nothing more. The SCOTUS always releases opinions in June. The J6 committee wanted to present its findings earlier in the year, but more and more information was coming in and they couldn't. It looks to me that they scheduled the hearings not to fuck with the SCOTUS schedule but to get the public the information as soon as they could reasonably present it, leaving themselves time to schedule additional hearings before the midterms if necessary. And that turned out to be necessary because people have been contacting the committee after each hearing with even MORE information. I believe it's a GOOD THING that these hearings are going to drag out through the summer!
This is a timing issue, not a conspiracy. As I've said, if it really was a conspiracy, the SCOTUS could have released an odious opinion every single day there was a hearing. Now if they had done that, I'd believe it was a conspiracy to distract. They didn't release the worst of their opinions until after the first hearings and before the next set. That alone tells me there was no conspiracy here.
