that he is in attorney mode, parsing words (though mindful of staying in his integrity)? To my knowledge, he hasn't said he's privy to information -- more than the rest of us are -- that any key Trump circle people are under investigation. And if DOJ is using the ground-up approach, with Trump being the last man to fall, so to speak, even committee members wouldn't see direct evidence of Trump himself being investigated. Getting everyone around Trump first obviously leads to Trump, even if there is no direct evidence of that yet.

So him using that approach and expressing frustration serves a few purposes, imo, which is all it is, my opinion. Just as it's likely only Adam Schiff's opinion and your opinion and the many here expressing our varied opinions. None of us really know for sure.

I agree that if Schiff KNOWS DOJ is investigating Trump and he's doing it as a ruse to get the Trumper to keep criming out in the open, thinking they're safe, that would impact his reputation. But his statement doesn't do that, imo. It's not definitive that he KNOWS anything.

I like to think that Schiff does fervently believe Trump is in the crosshairs and is choosing to express the views he has to 1) pressure DOJ even more and get the public to apply more pressure in some way, though how do we pressure DOJ? And this also runs the risk of turning off people on the left who fervently believe DOJ WON'T do anything, not ever and 2) to let Trump and those around him think he's getting off without consequences and keep making stupid, incriminating statements, in writing, in interviews and at his rallies.
