(11,152 posts)Most of the people I worked with genuinely needed the assistance. The American economy and health care systems have a lot of cracks people can fall through. You just never know what someone's dealing with until you see it with your own eyes.
But there does exist a definite class of people who are professionally disabled. They're not actually disabled in any measurable way. They just want to get as much as they can out of the system so they don't have to work. How many is that? You know, I wouldn't even want to try to guess a percentage. The overwhelming majority of people I worked with had legitimate need. But there were cases where it was just, "Seriously?" The red flag, always, is when the excuse making comes flying from every quarter. That's what kind of pinged me here to start replying. Because . . . yeah.
