(1,654 posts)32. It's been a tough week for the GOP and Dem-haters, for sure.
People mocked President Biden for saying he could get Congress to work in a bipartisan way. And it's certainly true that the GOP is basically a nihilistic faction right now. But despite that, Biden has gotten several major pieces of bipartisan legislation through-- the infrastructure bill, gun control, CHIPS, and PACT. On top of that, of course, we got the American Rescue Plan, and are on the cusp of making a huge investment in clean energy, lowering drug prices, and raising taxes on tax-avoiding corporations. Not to mention all the confirmed judges and taking out Zawahiri.
All of this with a razor-thin margin in the House and a 50-50 Senate.
It's very remarkable, actually.
