Unlike so many other Ds, isn't afraid of his shadow - takes clear progressive positions without any equivocation, and will go right at Rs when they say and do horrible things (that is a full time job in its own).

He was flying pride flags outside the LT Govs office, which drove the Rs in the General Assembly crazy. They did everything they could to make him take them down - he replaced them with BIGGER ones.
