I doubt that was his goal, but it is one consequence of Garland's quickly executed series of statements today. Trump's circle won't have the time they usually afford themselves when using delay as a primary tactic in their pursuit of controlling the media.

Giving it a moment's thought, it's almost like using Trump's own tactics against him: bury him in headline after headline before he has a chance to prepare a statement responding to the first headline.
