but realistically, some portion of the country is going to continue to be conservative/right-wing and will continue to vote Republican until/unless they realize what they really stand for and how it is against their interests becomes apparent to them. It's not our responsibility to "save" them but we can't completely ignore them either or pretend they don't exist. Hopefully, that number will continue to shrink, but we have to ask ourselves, do we want a "sane" Republican Party in this country that is bad but at least somewhat tolerable and able to work with us or do we want the Trumpian lunatics running the asylum?
