In reply to the discussion: Who the hell eats $28 worth of food at Taco Bell? [View all]Sympthsical
(10,937 posts)23. I love Taco Bell
I don't consider it Mexican. When I want Mexican, I have two really good taquerias I go to. But Taco Bell is amazing in the same way White Castle is amazing. When you want it, you want it.
That said, I only go once every two months or so. While you can build up an expensive order if you really work for it, I can't imagine where $28 is going. The combos run about $8-$12. I prefer the Cravings menu. Get like two of the beefy melt burritos for $2.49 each and you're set. (And if people want to know about inflation, these were like $1.29 less than a year ago)
I never understand the poop jokes about it, though. Y'all need Fiber Jesus in your lives.

When I lived in Hong Kong circa 1980, McDonald's in Repulse Bay used to deliver to our school

At the time I lived there, apart from housing and cars, stuff was CRAZY cheap

I pumped gasoline at 31 cents a gallon. I don't see how that is relevant to the OP, though.

I regularly still see Whopper specials at 2 for $6 bucks at the BK that's 1/2 mile from my house.

Yeah, think I had my first around 1974. Probably not my very first taco but the first I remember

I've actually often sauteed it, then added a couple cups of water, boiled it for a sec

I could see the total being $28 if he had it delivered via Skip the Dishes or Doordash.
