In reply to the discussion: I was shocked and may have been a bit rude [View all]TigressDem
(5,126 posts)36. AND the Church also teaches that WE as Christians bear the brunt of the blame as well.
Jesus chose to allow himself to be put in this position to teach mankind about forgiveness and someone laying their life down so that others could choose to transform their life and give up the ways of selfishness and arrogance and turn toward humility and harmony.
The Church teaches that since this was done FOR US then WE ARE PART of that crowd symbolically and need to have understanding and compassion for people who were caught up in their time and listening to their leaders who were cruel and manipulative.
AND the Disciples were Jewish. Jesus was Jewish. Many beautiful wonderful Jewish people in this world are simply being painted with blood from an archeological dig and it makes no sense at all.

I've never really understood blaming the Jews at large for the death of Jesus.

Hatred is NOT a family value worth passing on to your children. (Universal You, not personal)

IF they saw that hating on each other only EMPOWERS the KKK it might change some.

I don't blame Jews in general, simply those that tied him up and put him in line to be crucified.

Blacks have been red-lined forever and by all ethnic groups. Banks/lenders have an unwritten code.

No, you are not being hardheaded or rude. Not paying enough attention may be correct.
